On 5 December 2023, at the Jägerhof Hotel (Plovdiv), the members of the Union of Fruit and Vegetable Processors (a member of the BIA) were introduced to the activities of the Bulgarian-Norwegian project SDSD – “Social Dialogue for Sustainable Development and Decent Work”.

Before 30 representatives of the sector, Iliana Pavlova and Martin Stoyanov from BIA made a presentation of the project, with a main emphasis on sustainable food management and a comparison between the experience of Norway and Bulgaria.

The topic was of considerable interest to the participants, even more so in relation to the perspective of food waste, which is a consequence of the activity of the processing enterprises of the sector and their further absorption. In this regard, the representatives from BIA also made a transition to the topic of the bioeconomy, as a tool for the circular utilization of waste from production activities.
